About me: On the same day that the Durham Bulls Athletic Park first opened to the public, I was born 3 miles away at Durham Regional Hospital. This event was perhaps telling of the close relationship with I would have with the Durham Bulls and with central North Carolina for the next quarter century. I spent my childhood in Hillsborough before attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and biology (class of 2015). I then completed by PhD at Duke University, working with Susan Alberts. I am currently a Klarman Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University. To the ongoing dismay of my parents, I am a lifelong fan of Duke basketball. I enjoy travelling, spending time in the outdoors, playing ultimate frisbee, finding good deals, eating fast food, and telling long jokes with punchlines that many feel are not worth the time investment.
